The RBT Video Course is a structured 40-hour curriculum aligned to the BACB RBT Task List. Content is organized into sequential topics, each containing a video lesson, a quiz, and a Q&A area.

Topic Progression

Topics must be completed in order. A student cannot access Topic 2 until Topic 1 is fully completed.

Each topic follows the same three-step progression:

Step 1: Watch Video
    ↓
Step 2: Complete Quiz (unlocked after video reaches 90% completion)
    ↓
Step 3: Q&A Available (unlocked after passing quiz)

Step 1: Video Lesson

The video lesson is the primary learning activity for each topic.

How it works:

• The student watches the professionally produced video lecture
• A progress marker on the seek bar shows activity segments within the video
• The video player tracks actual watch time — not just time elapsed on the page
• If the student leaves and returns, a resume prompt offers to continue from where they left off
• The quiz unlocks automatically when the student has watched at least 90% of the video

Time tracking:

• Watch time is saved continuously (every few seconds)
• Idle detection pauses the timer after 90 seconds of inactivity
• Only active engagement time counts toward the 40-hour requirement

Step 2: Topic Quiz

After the video threshold is reached, the topic quiz becomes available.

How it works:

• Multiple-choice questions based on the video content
• Students answer one question at a time
• After answering, students may request to see the correct answer and an explanation
• Students can view a summary of their results at the end
• The quiz can be reset and retaken as many times as needed
• Passing the quiz unlocks the next topic and the Q&A for the current topic

Scoring:

• Each question has a defined point weight
• Passing percentage: 70%

Step 3: Topic Q&A (AI Study Assistant)

Once the quiz is passed, the Q&A area becomes available for that topic.

Students can ask the AI study assistant questions specifically related to the current topic’s content. See AI Study Assistant for full details.

Final Exam

After all topics are completed, the final exam becomes available.

• Questions: 250 total (including 10 non-scored bogus questions)
• Time limit: 90 minutes
• Passing score: 175 out of 250 points (70%)
• Question order: May be presented in fixed or shuffled order (platform-configured)

The final exam can be reset and retaken if failed.

The platform tracks total hours from all learning activities combined:

The total is capped at 40 hours. The running hour count is displayed in the course header so students always know where they stand.
